CAD SERVICES Palmer provides general CAD drafting services for several clients. These services include updating clients' drawings and providing plotting services. Palmer can provide color plotting or high-volume black and white plotting. Palmer also does pipeline relocation and easement drawings for utility companies. Palmer can convert existing hand-drawn drawings to digital format for clients by digitizing, scanning or doing a raster-to-vector conversion on the drawings.

RENDERINGS

Bridge over Lake Cumberland Pulaski County, Kentucky This rendering of the proposed replacement of the US 27 bridge over Lake Cumberland in South-Central Kentucky was created for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet by the Palmer-Figg Engineers-SAEC/Kinetic Visions team. Due to its location on a very high-traffic section of the lake, great care was taken to select a replacement that was not only functional but striking also. This rendering shows the alternate selected out of the three designs that were considered. Renderings were made of all three designs and presented to the client to aid in its selection of the final design. The concrete arch alternate rendering is shown in the header of this page.

Stateland Parking Lot Eastern Kentucky University Richmond, Kentucky A new 450-car parking lot on the campus of Eastern Kentucky University is depicted in this rendering. This model was created using Intergraph Inroads and Autodesk 3D Studio. Being able to look at this project from a multi-dimensional perspective helped the client better visualize the project.

Raccoon Creek Interchange US 119, Pike County, Kentucky This rendering is of a proposed interchange for US 119 at Raccoon Creek in Pike County, Kentucky. The interchange is part of a proposed 8.5-mile roadway project with an estimated construction cost of $180 million. This rendering was created primarily for the client (Kentucky Transportation Cabinet) to visualize the effect of the 300-plus feet of roadway cuts that will be required to construct the interchange.

WV 2 Bridge Point Pleasant, West Virginia This animation of a proposed alignment for a three-mile improvement project for WV Route 2 near Point Pleasant, West Virginia, was created for the West Virginia Department of Transportation. This animation was created with Intergraph Inroads and Autodesk 3D Studio. After the animation was rendered on the computer, it was transferred to videotape for the client.
