The Rehabilitation of the SR 62 Bridge over Crooked Fork Creek
After more than six decades of service to the citizens of a rural Tennessee community, the bridge had become structurally and functionally deficient. TDOT assigned Palmer the task of rehabilitating this bridge in Morgan County, TN. The project entailed a complete replacement of the original superstructure. The original substructure units were incorporated into the design and supported the new wider, precast, prestressed concrete beam superstructure. While an extensive rehabilitation, construction activities were phased, and traffic control designed so that one lane of traffic could be maintained on the bridge throughout the duration of construction.
