| US-119 over Johns Creek, CSX Railroad, and KY 194
|
These sister bridges are located in Pike County, KY and are 1350’ and 1380’ long, respectively. Both are constructed of curved, steel I-girders with maximum spans of 250 feet. They begin in a circular curve, transition through a spiral, and end in a tangent section of roadway. These 6-span bridges have hollow, tapered piers (maximum of 184-foot tall) that were designed for the geometric non-linear second order effects, material non-linear response, and creep and shrinkage effects.
