Palmer has performed physical inspections of this concrete cylinder pile wall and associated structures in downtown Cincinnati, OH twice a year since 2004. These inspections include observation of the cylinder pile wall, the steel tendons anchoring the wall to the hillside it retains, the access tunnel below this hill where the tendons’ anchors are located, a large cast-in-place retaining wall, several mechanically-stabilized earth retaining walls supporting bridge abutments, and numerous concrete “reaction blocks” stabilizing bridge embankments in the area.
