AVIATION

Palmer Engineering has supported statewide aviation programs through pavement management, engineering, planning, environmental, and construction services for general aviation airports across Kentucky. Working as a subconsultant on multiple statewide contracts, Palmer has helped evaluate existing infrastructure and support improvements that address the varied needs of airports across the Commonwealth.

  • Statewide Airport Pavement Management

Palmer supported statewide pavement condition evaluations in accordance with FAA Airport Pavement Management System standards using MicroPAVER software. Field data collection included runways, taxiways, and aprons at general aviation airports throughout the state.

The team contributed to Pavement Condition Index (PCI) assessments and graphical summaries for 53 airports across Kentucky, providing valuable information about existing pavement conditions. Palmer also completed Pavement Classification Rating (PCR) analyses for select locations.
