On Monday, August 4, Mayor JoEllen Reed joined local and state officials for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to mark the reopening of Jackson Street. The project was funded through a $500,000 grant from Gov. Andy Beshear’s County and City Bridge Replacement Program and included the removal of a deteriorating bridge, relocation of a water line, and construction of a new roadway. These improvements provide a safer and more reliable route for residents and travelers.
Palmer Engineering worked in partnership with the City of Winchester, the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet, and H&B Construction to complete the project. We are grateful for the community’s patience during construction and commend H&B Construction for their efficiency and professionalism.
Following the ceremony, attendees boarded a Clark County Public Schools bus to take the first official trip across the new roadway.
The Jackson Street project reflects a continued investment in improving local infrastructure and enhancing transportation for the Winchester community.
