Ashland’s Winchester Avenue Project Named Top 12 Finalist in National Awards

City of Ashland's Winchester Avenue at night.

We’re excited to share that the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s “Rightsizing, Roundabouts, and Revitalization: Ashland’s Winchester Avenue Streetscape Improvements” project has been named a Top 12 finalist in the 2025 America’s Transportation Awards competition!

This national recognition places the project among an elite group of contenders vying for the program’s two highest honors: the Grand Prize and the People’s Choice Award. Sponsored by AASHTO, the America’s Transportation Awards—now in its 18th year—recognizes transportation projects from state DOTs that make a significant impact on their communities.

Both top prizes include a $10,000 cash award that winners may donate to a charity or transportation-related scholarship fund of their choosing.
