From the Classroom to Costa Rica

Scott Wilson, Palmer Engineering, partners with Vanderbilt students to build a bridge in Costa Rica.

Palmer’s Scott Wilson recently partnered with Vanderbilt civil engineering seniors on a pedestrian bridge project for a local community.

After months of planning and design, the students traveled to Costa Rica to build the bridge — turning vision into reality. We’re proud to have supported this meaningful effort and celebrate the impact it will have for years to come. Congratulations to Logan Glazier, Zachary Hodges, Winnie Huang, and Elise Puliafico on this incredible accomplishment!

The story was featured on the Vanderbilt School of Engineering’s website and in the October 2025 issue of Modern Steel Construction magazine.
