Celebrating 57 Years of Palmer Engineering
As Palmer Engineering celebrates 57 years, we reflect on the history, growth, and values that continue to guide our work today.
In 1969, two University of Kentucky graduates set out to build an engineering firm grounded in hard work, collaboration, and a commitment to doing things the right way. Ralph Palmer and Richard Nunan founded Palmer Engineering in Winchester, Kentucky with a vision to deliver quality engineering services while building strong relationships with clients and communities.
More than five decades later, that vision continues to guide everything we do.
Today, Palmer Engineering has grown from a small Winchester-based company into a trusted regional leader in civil engineering, structural engineering, and land surveying services. What began as a local firm has expanded into a team of more than 120 professionals serving communities across Kentucky, Ohio, Tennessee, West Virginia, and Florida.
Throughout our history, Palmer Engineering has successfully completed more than 3,500 projects for public agencies and private clients. From transportation infrastructure and structural design to land development and environmental solutions, our work focuses on creating reliable, innovative infrastructure that strengthens communities and supports long-term growth.
While much has changed over the years—including new offices, expanded services, and continued leadership growth—our foundation remains the same: integrity, technical expertise, collaboration, and a commitment to delivering lasting value.
As we build on our legacy, we’re proud of our history and excited for the future ahead as Palmer Engineering continues serving and strengthening the communities we call home.
