I-Move Kentucky Project Featured in ASCE’s Civil Engineering Magazine

Palmer Engineering is proud to be recognized as a key subconsultant on the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet’s (KYTC) I-Move Kentucky project, a major transportation initiative highlighted in the May/June 2026 issue of Civil Engineering, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE).

The project, which began in 2019 and was completed in 2024, improved more than 28 miles of roadway along I-265, I-71, and I-64 in the Louisville area. The improvements increased capacity, enhanced safety, and modernized critical interstate infrastructure.

As part of the project team, Palmer Engineering provided structural design, lighting design, environmental guidance, and pavement analysis and design. Our structural work included bridge widening, two new bridges, two culvert extensions, retaining walls, sign supports, and other structural details. Palmer also developed lighting plans for seven interchanges and provided environmental guidance related to traffic noise, a Biological Assessment update, and permit applications for stream and wetland impacts.

Palmer Engineering is honored to have been part of the team delivering these important improvements to Kentucky’s interstate system.
