Breakout Session Spotlight: Truck Parking in Kentucky

Breakout #8 | January 15 | 2:00 p.m. - 2:45 p.m. – Truck Parking: The Problem and What Kentucky Is Doing About It

This session will explore one of the most pressing freight challenges facing the Commonwealth—adequate truck parking. The discussion will cover:

  • Current efforts to expand existing rest areas along high-volume commercial corridors

  • Innovative technologies used to weigh and inspect trucks at weigh stations

  • Ongoing research focused on identifying the most effective technology for counting parked trucks at rest areas

Session speakers include:

  • Jennifer Walton, Associate Director – Kentucky Transportation Center

  • Stephanie Blaine, P.E., Vice President – Palmer Engineering

  • Jeremy Edgeworth, Freight, Rail and Waterways Coordinator – KYTC Division of Planning

Palmer Engineering is proud to contribute industry expertise to conversations that support safer, more efficient freight movement across the state.
