Learning Safety Early: Our Work Zone Awareness Activity Book for Kids

Make learning about safety fun! Our Work Zone Awareness Activity Book helps kids understand how to stay safe in and around work zones.

At Palmer Engineering, safety is a key part of everything we do—especially when working in and around active roadways. From surveying and bridge inspections to construction support, many of our team members spend time in work zones where awareness and caution are critical.

As part of National Work Zone Awareness Week, we’re excited to share a new way to help teach those lessons early: our Work Zone Awareness Activity Book for Kids.

Designed to be fun and engaging, the activity book introduces kids to the basics of work zone safety through coloring pages, puzzles, and simple challenges. Along the way, they’ll learn important ideas like slowing down near work zones, paying attention to signs, and helping keep workers safe.

It’s also a great way to connect what engineers and surveyors do with real-world safety. In addition to building and improving infrastructure, staying safe and helping protect the crews working alongside us is just as important.

Whether at home or in the classroom, this activity book is a simple way to start conversations about safety and responsibility—and to share the message: Safe actions save lives.
